Gallery SOTODO: für den 8. Internationalen Kongress für Performance Art
18. bis 20. Oktober 2002 Pankow
Der 8. International Kongress
für Performance Art findet in der Garbàrty - Zigarettenfabrik
in Pankow statt.
Hundert internationale Künstler kommen zusammen, um in einem nicht kommerziellen
Rahmen ihre Arbeiten
zu dem Thema "T...error" zu zeigen und die unterschiedlichen Positionen
zu diskutieren und zu reflektieren.
Der Kongress vereint verschiedene Manifestationen der zeitgenössischen
Kunst unter einem Dach.
Persönliche und künstlerische Motive ergeben eine intensive kollektive
Interaktion
und ist für die Künstler ein sehr beeindruckender Faktor, am Kongress
teilzunehmen.
Während des Kongresses
sind die ausgewählten Räume nach den
jeweiligen Bedürfnissen der Künstler und des Publikums eingerichtet.
Das Büro sammelt
Informationen zu stattfindenden Austeilungen und Aktionen,
organisiert den Ablauf des Kongresses und stellt eine Dokumentation im Internet
zur Verfügung.
Es ist auch verantwortlich für die Vorbereitung des Kongresskatalogs.
Der Info Desk koordiniert
die Aktivitäten und funktioniert als Vermittler zwischen Büro und
Publikum.
Ein Salon dient als informeller Treffpunkt für Teilnehmer und Publikum
und unterstreicht
die kommunikative Natur des Kongresses.
Der Art Shop bietet dem Publikum Multiple, Arbeiten auf Papier oder anderen
Artefakten
für jeweils bis zu 50,-Euro.
Interessierte erhalten hier einen zusätzlichen Eindruck des komplexen
Schaffens vieler Teilnehmer.
Parallel zu Ausstellungen und Performances ist ein Ort für Video- und Filmpräsentation eingerichtet.
Das Zusammentreffen von
Künstlern unterschiedlicher kultureller Hintergründe und
individueller Temperamente, der sich jährlich sich ändernde Kongressort
und die
begrenzte Zeit funktionieren als Katalysator für Kommunikation und Fortbildung.
Somit ist das Ziel des Kongresses für Performance Art erreicht.
Der erste
Kongress findet vom 13. bis 15. September 2002 in Paris statt und wird von
der
pariser Künstlergruppe „Association pour un Monde - Apu M“
bzw.
von der „Direction des Affaires Culturelles de la Ville de Paris“
und der Gallery „SOTODO“ ausgerichtet.
Veranstaltungsort
wird hier -Le Frigo,Paris 13e,M:Francois Mitterand sein.
Der zweite Teil des Austausches findet in Berlin vom 18. bis 20. Oktober2002
statt.
Veranstaltungsort ist hier die ehemalige
Garbàty-Zigarettenfabrik
in der Hadlichstr.44, nähe S- bzw. U- Bahnhof Pankow.

Die Kongresse wenden sich an ein Publikum, das an wichtigen Themen unserer Zeit und ihrer Reflektierung mit Mitteln der zeitgenössischen Kunst interressiert ist.
Concept
Gallery SoToDo: 8. International Congress for Performance Art
18. bis 20. Oktober 2002 Pankow Berlin
This year the Congress for Performance Art is in the form of an exchange between
the
organization Artists pour un Monde and Gallery SoToDo.
The 7th Congres will take place first in Paris between the 13th and the 15th
of September 2002.
We have recieved major funding from the city of Paris.
The 8th congress will take place at the Garbárty Zigarette Fabrik in
Pankow between the 18th and 20th of October 2002.
Here, like in Paris, over 100 international artists, 50 from each side, will
meet in a non-commercial environment
in order to present there work and to discuss and view there different artistic
positions.
Over the three days, the congress in Berlin will bring together the different
manifestations in contemporary art under one roof.
The personal and creative motives of the artists provides an intensive collective
interaction at the
congress and are very empressionable factors for those participating.
At the congress space, different areas are assigned for the various needs
of the artists and the public:
The Bureau collects information about the exhibition and actions taking place,
organizes the congress' program and actualizes the website.
It is also responsible for the preparation of the catalogue that will be presented
at the end of the three day congress.
The Info Desk coordinates the activities and functions as a messager between
the bureau, artists and public.
The Salon serves as an informal meeting place for participants and public
thus underlining the communative nature of the congress.
The Art Shop offers to the public multiples, works on paper and other artifacts
for under 50,-euro.
Those interested will receive an additional impression in the diverse creativity
of the participating artists.
A Videoteque. Parallel to the exhibition of performance art, there is an area
reserved for Video and Film presentation.
